This page belongs to my boy "Sagwu unegiyusdi Katonka" Translation - One Gray Buffalo
AKA: Tonka
Yes! He's a Merle American Pit Bull Terrier. Shame him if it makes you feel better about yourself,
I know you do this, 'cause you fear what you don't understand - And that goes for his breed aswell.
The APBT has been around longer then most dogs, and their loyalty as been abused by man kind and made to be a blood thirsty monster - The media hasn't helped the breed by focusing on the "Bad "Dog" Owner"
"There's No Such Thing As A Bad Dog - Just IRRESPONSIBLE owners!
I have owned an APBT for 22 years of my life - Some better then others. And not once in those 22 years have I ever feared someone coming over for a visit, Nor have I feared someone walking into my back yard. Why when I own a pit or two - simple: my dogs were raised knowing human is friend not foe:
Nor has any of my past and present Pit bulls been animal aggessive,That is the biggest No-No is my house among my dogs, Pit or not! I fear this least of all things enough to open my house to Pits / Pit mix Dogs needing a foster home for a while. Do Not Judge a dog by it's breed - but by it's human.
With that said, Let's talk about "Katonka" His sire (Damien) is Merle- His Dam (Myia) - White with some black.
Both Parents are mild loving natured dogs, a BIG plus for Tonka as this will make for a fun loving personality.
I have plans for Tonka - First, to be a Family friend and companion. Second - I want to see him on a Springpole. Myia (His Dam) loves to Springpole - So it'll be in him almost naturally. Third - Weights. I'm thinking I will need to devote allot of time to these things with him, so that he will be Great at all of the above.
I will also search for competitions in State and Out once he is older and I feel he's ready to make his debut.
A dog (Pit Bull) with something to do is a happy Healthy Dog.
